Best AWD Cars

Three AWD/4WD Cars to consider

When making the consideration to purchase a vehicle, there are many things which I take to mind before making a decision. Some of these considerations include: price, gas mileage, seating capacity, features, new vs used, vehicle make and model, and many other considerations before making a final purchase option. When on the market I will consider vehicles which offer all wheel drive (awd), due to the area I live in.

The main consideration for me in considering which the best awd cars are, the major consideration for me (other than price) is gas mileage. Since awd vehicles tend to have larger engines, I want to find the ones which offer the best gas mileage, especially considering the cost of gas today.

After doing the research, I have come to find the 3 best awd cars to consider on the market (based on price and gas mileage) are the: Lexus RX 450h, Toyota Highlander Hybrid 4WD, and the Ford Escape Hybrid 4WD. In my opinion these three models offer a clean looking exterior, get the most gas mileage (out of the choices I considered), and offered great amenities for the price and brand name.

best awd cars

The first of the best awd cars I considered is the Lexus RX 450, with a base price of $46,000. The vehicle gets 29 MPG on the highway. For an awd, this is great mileage. The vehicle is one of five hybrids offered by Lexus, and still delivers the powerful awd which is desired by me due to the area I live in. It offers a 3.5 liter engine, and comes equipped with basic features (A/C, stereo, electric seats, electric windows, and other base features.) The vehicle offers a sporty looking exterior, a powerful drive and handle, and packs a punch in gas mileage for a midsize sedan.

The next option I had is the Toyota Highlander Hybrid 4WD, with a base price of $37,490. This vehicle can seat up to seven passengers, compared to the other two (Ford & Lexus), which can seat only five. It offers a hybrid engine which uses electric motors and a 3.5 liter engine, to deliver optimal MPG's while driving. The Toyota gets 28 (city) and 29 (highway) MPG, which is comparable to the other models. Like The Lexus it comes equipped with basic interior's, but doesn't offer as sporty of an exterior; it is more of a box-shaped looking vehicle. The overall quality is great, offers great amenities, and has great MPG for an SUV style car.

The third consideration is the Ford Escape Hybrid, with a base price of $32,000. Offering an awd that the Lexus and Toyota do, but lacks the amenities and interior features which are standard in the other models. It offers 29 MPG both in the city and highway, and offers plenty of cargo room, and seating for up to five. Although less features than the Toyota and Lexus, The Ford offers great mileage and a great exterior look.

For my personal needs, these were the 3 awd cars I considered. Since price and mileage were very important to me these ranked highest on my list. Although other consumers are looking for luxurious features, and other amenities, for me, the mileage and awd features are key aspects in the buying process. Out of the three models, I feel the Toyota is the greatest option. It is the median of the three in price, is a reputable brand, offers a clean exterior look, has the most seating room, and offers the same MPG as the other two vehicles which were considered.
